Cars and more!
Today we went to Scottsdale to see the Barrett-Jackson Automobile Auction.  This was Don's choice of activity but I figured they might have some good food so away we went. This was the warmest day we have had in a week or so and a great day to be out and about and in and out of tents and buildings!
Free tattoos!
This event was absolutely huge!  We had to walk about 3 blocks just to get to the entry and I was glad Don has a good sense of direction or I would be still there looking for my car. Likely, I would have been walking up and down pushing frantically on the remote hoping the horn would beep all the while trying to look cool.
Really hard to show how huge this was on pictures, but you could always tune into this auction on TV and get an idea.
This was a life size moose sculpture made out of cut off nails. There were other animals too!
I was really happy to find out that there was a lot more than just cars at this event.  You could buy almost anything.
Seriously??   Although I sure could have used a nap after about 4 hours of walking around.

Yup  even clothes.  I loved this bling bling sweater and these fitted denim coats.

There were tons of collectible items.  Don bought himself a new hat.  A lot of the antique type items will be  auctioned off and some were just for sale.

They drive the car up that is to be auctioned, there is a huge screen that details the item and also shows the price.  Notice that the Canadian dollar is worth more than US today.
This is where the cars line up to go in to the main building.

After the car is sold it is pushed and then glides down the ramp to the outside where they start it up and drive it away.  It is an amazing organized event and has a lot of staff.
Bought this one for Kylie
Hey Dad - isn't this the cutest golf cart ever?

This car sold for $200,000   - the money went to charity

OMG  - a scooby doo hippy van!  How amazingly awesome is that?
I know a couple of young ladies who would love this!

this bottom one is Roy Rogers and Dale Evans "honey moon dream car"  It was pretty cute

Best soba noodle stir fry ever.  MMMM it was so good, I have never had a stir fry with so many kinds of vegetables in it.
Huge BBQ , on the right side there was a grill with about 50 turkey legs cooking.  Blech - not sure why you would want to eat a turkey leg but it was cool all the same.

You could drive a fast car on this track .

It's the first bat mobile.
I totally want one of these decks on my motorhome!
I heard one guy say to his girlfriend "who takes pictures of a giraffe at a car show?"   ha ha  not sure if he was talking about me or not but whatever  - hee hee!
Finally - a car we can afford!

I just love how they decorate the bridges and areas around the roadways.  It is really beautiful and I am sure it keeps the graffiti away.
